About Us

In 2008 Race Equality Sandwell and the University of Kent put in a project proposal,

“Tackling racism amongst adolescents: a route to greater wellbeing
and community cohesion”,

to the Big Lottery Fund. By investigating adolescents’ experiences of racism in Sandwell schools
our aim was to produce a “Guide” for young people and practitioners to benefit from.
The creation of this “toolkit”, informed by young people in Sandwell, was to help young people deal
with racism more effectively and to counteract the negative effects of racism.

It helped me to deal with racism knowing about other peoples' experiences and how they dealth with them - Josh Hedley
